Role description
BCI has a dynamic role open with our direct client located in Jersey City, NJ. The preferred candidate will have insurance data industry experience (commercial, home, life, auto, and property) working as an actuarial analyst. Strong background is required with Snowflake specifically for business and data analysis. You will use Snowflake to design and optimize data strategies, enabling data-driven solutions for critical business challenges like risk assessment, fraud detection, and claims management.
Position will be 6 months to start with good chance for extensions.100% remote. Can work on a 1099/W2 basis. No C2C/Subcontractors. Must be a US Citizen, GC holder/EAD. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Act as a liaison between business and data teams as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
β’ Map data, perform data analytics and provide KPIβs to source data to allow underwriters to access and analyze thousands of internal and external data points in real-time, improving the accuracy of risk assessment and delivering competitive quotes faster.
β’ Oversee the systems solution and ensure that the solution aligns with business goals and processes.
β’ Analyze and assess insurance-related datasets to identify data quality issues and recommend remediation strategies.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements.
β’ Develop system diagrams and data flow documentation to support analytics and reporting initiatives.
β’ Perform data wrangling and transformation tasks to prepare datasets for analysis.
β’ Document metrics definitions, table structures, and update processes.
β’ Work closely with engineering and analytics teams to ensure data integrity and usability.
Required Skills:
β’ Proven experience in insurance analytics and data quality assessment.
β’ Strong SQL skills, with hands-on experience in Snowflake a MUST!
β’ Ability to create clear and concise documentation, including data flows and system diagrams.
β’ Strong understanding of data wrangling, data structures, metrics, and update processes.
β’ Sigma and dbt a plus
β’ Experience in Python for data manipulation and analysis a plus
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
