Data Solution Architect 📍 Buffalo, NY (Preferred) | Remote with travel every 4–6 weeks (Mon–Thurs on-site, travel expenses reimbursed) 💼 Full-time | Financial Services Client Overview Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect to join their Enterprise Architecture team. This role will play a key part in designing and delivering enterprise-grade data platforms and cloud solutions that enable advanced analytics, data integration, and business intelligence. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth in data engineering and cloud architecture with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant data solutions. Key Responsibilities • Architect and deliver cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake) and scalable data pipelines using technologies like Databricks and Kafka. • Design and implement ETL/ELT frameworks for ingesting, transforming, and integrating data from diverse sources. • Develop and deploy data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics environments to support BI, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. • Define and enforce data governance, quality, and metadata standards aligned with enterprise policies and compliance requirements. • Collaborate with enterprise architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with data and cloud strategies. • Lead technical evaluations and proof-of-concepts for emerging data technologies (streaming, AI/ML, data mesh). • Produce detailed architecture diagrams, data flow maps, and technical documentation for operational handoff. • Support Agile/DevOps practices through CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches. Skills & Knowledge • Expertise in data engineering, cloud-native architecture, and modern data technologies. • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, REST APIs, and data integration tools. • Experience with data modeling, governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. • Knowledge of Azure (preferred) or other cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures. • Familiarity with financial systems, data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and security controls. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 5+ years in solution architecture or technical implementation, with at least 2+ years in data engineering or enterprise data platforms. • Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as DevOps and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker). • Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Certified Data Engineer preferred. • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to partner across business and technology functions.
