Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Data Analyst to support reference data management, data governance, and business intelligence initiatives.
This role involves identifying and curating reference data entities, supporting SOX/SDLC compliance, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver critical reports and dashboards.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with data profiling tools, and a solid understanding of data governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Reference Data Management
Identify and define Reference Data Entities (RDEs).
Collaborate with the Data Governance team to determine entity ownership.
Work with data owners and subject matter experts to curate attributes and values for RDEs.
Conduct legacy system analysis to identify RDEs and create crosswalk mappings to new RDEs.
Complete data profiling and documentation using tools such as OvalEdge.
Data Discovery & Governance
β’ Partner with the Data Governance team and business stewards to identify Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
β’ Define data quality rules and thresholds.
β’ Collaborate on processes for data error handling and resolution.
β’ Ensure RDEs are well-defined and data sources are documented in alignment with governance standards.
SOX/SDLC Support
β’ Identify relevant data elements subject to SOX/SDLC controls.
β’ Support documentation and compliance efforts related to SOX/SDLC.
β’ Address ad hoc data needs related to compliance and audit requirements.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
β’ Identify and document critical reports and dashboards required by business stakeholders.
β’ Gather business requirements and relevant data sources.
β’ Develop reports and dashboards that align with operational and management needs.
Required Qualifications
β’ Proven experience in reference data management and data governance.
β’ Strong analytical and data profiling skills.
β’ Experience with data quality rule definition and threshold setting.
β’ Familiarity with SOX/SDLC compliance and documentation practices.
β’ Proficiency in business intelligence tools and dashboard development.
β’ Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with data governance tools such as OvalEdge.
β’ Background in financial services or regulated industries.
