β’ Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and versatile Splunk Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in both the front-end application development and the back-end administration of the Splunk platform. This role is responsible for the complete lifecycle of Splunk solutions, from architecting data ingestion to developing custom, interactive dashboards that provide our users with powerful insights.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Development:
β’ Design, build, and maintain custom Splunk applications, dashboards, reports, and alerts using the Splunk UI Toolkit and other web technologies.
β’ Develop interactive and responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, leveraging frameworks like React to create dynamic visualizations.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into impactful, user-friendly Splunk solutions.
β’ Optimize Search Processing Language (SPL) queries to ensure dashboard performance and efficiency.
Back-End Development and Administration:
β’ Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle within Splunk, including data ingestion, parsing, normalization, and optimization.
β’ Integrate data from diverse sources using Splunk forwarders, APIs, and custom scripts, with a focus on scripting languages like Python.
β’ Administer and fine-tune Splunk architecture components, including indexers, search heads, and forwarders, to ensure system health and scalability.
β’ Utilize the Splunk Command-Line Interface (CLI) for system configuration, management, and automation.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data ingestion, system performance, and Splunk infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications
β’ Proven experience as a Splunk Developer or Administrator with strong proficiency in both front-end and back-end aspects.
β’ Expertise in Search Processing Language (SPL) and a deep understanding of advanced search techniques.
β’ Strong web development skills, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
β’ Hands-on experience with the Splunk UI Toolkit and creating custom Splunk applications.
β’ Extensive knowledge of Splunk administration, including managing data inputs, indexes, and clusters.
β’ Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python, for automation and app development.
β’ Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong understanding of IT operations and system monitoring.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Splunk certification (e.g., Splunk Enterprise Certified Developer or Administrator).
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and Splunk Cloud environments.
β’ Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) or IT Service Intelligence (ITSI).
β’ Experience with version control systems like Git.
