We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SQL Server / VBA Developer to join one of our clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in SQL Server development and administration, alongside proven skills in VBA, to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of business-critical applications and databases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Develop and maintain VBA applications to support business processes, primarily within Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Perform SQL Server administration tasks including backups, monitoring, performance tuning, and security management.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide prompt resolution.
• Ensure data integrity and optimise existing data processes.
• Support the deployment of changes through development, test, and production environments.
Key Skills and Experience:
• Strong SQL Server development skills (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, etc.).
• Solid experience in SQL Server administration (including backups, indexing, monitoring, and optimisation).
• Advanced proficiency in VBA (Excel, Access).
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration tools.
• Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS or Power BI is advantageous.
• Understanding of database security, data governance, and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE in Data Management and Analytics).
• Experience with cloud-based SQL solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
• Knowledge of other scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.
