We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Server Developer to support one of our Brokerage clients in the Richmond area in a hybrid, 6-month contract-to-hire engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building SQL objects, writing reports, analyzing data, and working with end users across all levels of the organization. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including Reporting Services (SSRS) and Integration Services (SSIS). Key Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures. • Design and build SQL objects such as tables, views, indexes, and functions. • Create and maintain comprehensive reports to support business operations. • Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and insights. • Collaborate with end users to understand their data needs and provide solutions. • Ensure data integrity and security. • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. • Stay updated with the latest SQL Server features and best practices. Qualifications: • 5+ years of proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Developer • 3+ years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred Skills: • Extensive experience with data analysis and problem-solving skills • Experience with other scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell. • Experience with process automation • Experience working with a Financial Services/Full Service Brokerage firm • Knowledge of database design and data modeling.
