Role description
This is a contract SQL Developer role with a healthcare client located in Houston, TX. The SQL Developer will be responsible for database development, ETL (Extract Transform Load), database design, analytical skills, and data modeling on-site. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Develop and optimize intricate stored procedures, user-defined functions, and DML scripts to support various applications and reporting needs. β€’ Implement advanced performance optimization techniques, including strategic indexing, query tuning, and database profiling, to ensure rapid data retrieval and processing. β€’ Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient database designs. β€’ Contribute to the full database development lifecycle, from conceptual design to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Desired Skills & Experience: β€’ 8+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Database Developer, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server. β€’ Proven expertise in writing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. β€’ Extensive experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques, such as indexing, execution plan analysis, and data partitioning. β€’ Strong understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling principles. β€’ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. β€’ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
