Role description
Role: Architect + Lead Developer with responsibility for complex SQL/SSIS builds, system integrations, and light project management. Will guide mid-level developers, enforce standards, and deliver secure, optimized ETL solutions.
12+ years in SQL Server and SSIS development, with extensive experience designing and maintaining large-scale ETL pipelines.
β’ Proven track record of on-prem β cloud integrations and data migration strategies.
β’ Hands-on designing gateway/staging DBs, secure ETL pipelines, and data governance frameworks.
β’ Strong background in data quality, lineage, reconciliation reporting, and audit trails.
β’ Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and deliver projects using Agile/PMI methodologies.
β’ Experience mentoring mid-level developers in SSIS best practices, performance tuning, and DevOps pipelines.
β’ SQL Server: Advanced T-SQL, schema design, indexing strategies, stored procedures, views, query optimization.
β’ SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services):
β’ Complex Data Flows, Control Flows, Error Paths, Script Tasks.
β’ Advanced package design, parameters, variables, parent/child packages.
β’ Logging, deployment to SSISDB, and automated job scheduling.
β’ Optimization for high-volume data pipelines.
β’ Integration & File Handling: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, flat files, SFTP/CSV imports.
β’ Gateway & Staging Databases: design and usage for data ingestion, cleansing, validation, and performance optimization.
β’ RBAC & secure configuration management for compliance and governance.
β’ Source-to-target data mapping, translations, and reconciliation logic across systems.
β’ Version control & DevOps: Git, TFS, CI/CD pipelines for SQL/SSIS deployments.
β’ .NET/Java for custom API connectors and integration extensions.
β’ Exposure to cloud data services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, AWS Glue) for hybrid ETL solutions.
β’ Familiarity with project management concepts (Agile, PMI), reporting, and stakeholder communication.
