Having uttility Domain experience will be a great Plus Project Request For Qualifications (“rfq”) Requirements We are seeking a consultant(s) with extensive experience in designing and developing advanced using a variety of tools that may include Tableau, PowerBI, or other reporting and business intelligence solutions. The position is responsible for planning, design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and support of BI solutions The position is 100% remote with possible on-site meetings as needed. Scope The consultant is expected to: • Participates in requirements definition, solution development and the implementation phases of data warehouse and reporting projects. • Design, develop, maintain & document complex analytical/ad-hoc reports, and dashboards including but not limited to BI Tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc. • Collaborate with the LIPA Sr Data Architect, data analysts, and technology resources in support of data/table structures in order to optimize for BI Dashboards and other self-service needs. • Liaise with the team’s Business Analyst to evaluate business queries, thinking like the end user and translating these requests into technical requirements • Design and create interactive data visualizations to provide meaningful insights from the data to support user needs. • Perform administrative functions such as managing upgrades, security, creating/updating users, groups, roles, and migrating of content within the BI environments. • Perform detailed data analysis (i.e., determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples). • Investigates & proposes new technologies and enhancements in the areas of business intelligence and reporting. • Help to establish standards and best practices for dashboards within the BI tool environment. • Participates in the overall development process via architecture guidance, design and code reviews, and estimation and planning assistance. • Build prototypes for demonstration and illustration purposes for tactical, operational, and strategic needs. • Support stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) through troubleshooting and analysis of results. • Supports training activities and mentors the end users on the effective use of features & functions of the BI tool. • Communicate and drive discussions on data and insights, context, and implications with business and technology partners. • Document and communicate technical specifications to ensure that proper and optimized techniques, queries, and final deliverables are understood and incorporated into data and analytics processes. Requirements • 8 years of experience in delivering Business Intelligence and analytical solutions. • 5 years of experience with BI Architecture, designing, developing of advanced analytical reports, dashboards etc using Tableau, PowerBI, and/or other reporting and business intelligence solutions (on-premise/cloud). • Working Experience with relational and dimensional modeling, datawarehouse, Data Marts, Data lakes etc. • Hands-on experience with query and analysis of relational, structure/unstructured repositories on premise and cloud. • In-depth expert-level experience with creating data visualizations, KPI’s, performance metrics, scorecards, drill down reports etc. • Experience creating reports and dashboards on Smartsheets. • Demonstrated experience using the BI tool’s connections to API, SDK’s, relational, connectors using various authentication methods. • Experience working with numerous data sources, knowledge of source connectivity, and publishing for optimization. • Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment. • Demonstrated experience in supporting and tutoring BI end users. • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or related field. Preferred Qualifications • Certifications in Tableau. The work is expected to mostly be performed virtually. The detailed scope will be determined jointly between LIPA and the selected service provider.
