Senior Cloud Engineer – Microservices (AWS) Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid – Onsite Required) Duration: 12-Month Contract Extension: Strong Potential Openings: 1 Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep experience in cloud-native microservices architectures to support a fast-paced, enterprise-scale environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in modern engineering ecosystems built on AWS, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and highly scalable distributed systems. You will help design, build, and optimize microservices powering mission-critical applications in a highly secure and performance-driven setting. What You’ll Do Design and build cloud-native microservices in AWS Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services Engineer scalable backend solutions using Python (preferred) or Java Develop UI components using Angular Build server-side applications and APIs using Node.js Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation best practices Partner with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines Ensure high availability, observability, and security of cloud solutions Contribute to performance tuning and resiliency improvements Required Qualifications Strong experience designing and implementing microservices architecture Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.) Proficiency in Python (Java acceptable) Experience with Node.js and RESTful API development Front-end development experience with Angular Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and resiliency patterns Preferred Qualifications Experience in large enterprise financial services environments Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) principles Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, etc.) Experience working in Agile product teams
