Job#: 3033207 Job Description: Sr. Data and AI Engineer Location: 100% remote Employment Type: Contract to Perm Role Overview We are seeking a Sr. Data and AI Engineer to serve as a key member of a high-performing team. This role provides critical support in product discovery, using data expertise to merge technical, business, and customer needs into achievable objectives. The engineer will identify challenges and improvements to processes, organizational practices, and technical innovation, and lead cross-functional team members to deliver improvements. Key Responsibilities • Serve as a central facilitator to help the organization understand current drivers and challenges. • Support Business Development efforts by maturing strategic solution ideas and aligning them with customer needs. • Develop a roadmap that links the deployment of architectural capabilities to address organizational data challenges. • Work hands-on with developers to deliver solutions and provide customer-facing support. • Communicate technical solutions with multiple stakeholders at different leadership levels. • Mentor data engineers, establish best practices, provide code review, and help the team understand the business value of solutions. • Build solutions that use data to improve business insights, aid operational decisions, and support performance management. • Work in an Agile environment leveraging advanced design and engineering best practices. Required Qualifications Clearance & Citizenship: • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD Public Trust clearance. Education & Experience: • Bachelor's degree • 10+ years of IT experience, including design, analysis, and implementation of large-scale, complex data architectures. • 5+ years of data experience in evaluating, architecting, and building AI and Generative AI tools. Technical Skills: • Knowledge of Data Management and Data Architecture concepts, Data Warehousing, and Big Data tools. • Experience with Azure and AWS Cloud native data and AI technologies. • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir, and other large data platforms. • Knowledge of Data Analytics and applicable knowledge of Data Science concepts and tools. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with DHS and knowledge of DHS standards. • Demonstrated ability to plan and meet delivery objectives in complex environments. • Ability to vet new technologies in the big data space and make recommendations. • Experience with Python, Django, Flask, Java, PostgreSQL Vector, NiFi, Bash scripting, and API development. • Understanding of technical delivery tools like source code management, agile management, and data analysis and dashboarding. • Proven success in consulting and advising customers. Compensation & Benefits The anticipated conversion salary for this position is between $180,000 and $200,000 annually. A comprehensive benefits package is available.
