About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Governance Engineer with 8+ years' experience to design, build, and operationalize governance-by-design solutions across secure, scalable data and application platforms in a regulated environment. You'll translate loosely defined business and security requirements into well-specified, measurable products in close partnership with platform, data, and security teams.
What You'll Do
β’ Design & Build: Deliver scalable governance solutions using existing tech, open-source tools, and new integrations-emphasis on governance insights, data collection, and reporting.
β’ Governance by Design: Implement user-friendly controls using computational/automatable engines integrated with data platforms, pipelines, metadata, and authorization systems.
β’ Compliance Integration: Gather and codify requirements from security/regulatory partners to ensure policy and regulatory compliance in product design.
β’ Cross-Functional Delivery: Translate business needs into technically sound, efficient governance products; contribute across the SDLC with CI/CD and infra automation.
β’ Reliability & Ops: Establish metrics/observability; troubleshoot governance issues and provide technical support.
β’ Continuous Improvement: Stay current on security, governance, and data governance best practices and drive platform improvements.
β’ Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture.
What You'll Bring
Must-Have
β’ Proficiency in at least one language (Python, Scala, or Java) and its toolchains (docs, testing, ops/observability).
β’ Strong experience in computational data governance, data security, compliance (regulated industries).
β’ Hands-on with authN/authZ as code; integration with enterprise RBAC tools.
β’ Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code.
β’ CI/CD implementations with Git and a common stack (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
β’ Fluency with modern engineering workflows (Git/GitHub, metrics/monitoring, DevOps).
Nice-to-Have
β’ Dashboarding on BigQuery or Postgres via Grafana or Looker.
β’ Building reusable components on CNCF/Kubernetes (or similar).
β’ Experience in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
Work Authorization
β’ W2 only; we are not able to provide visa sponsorship.
β’ Applications from agencies/3rd parties will not be considered.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a brief note highlighting a governance solution you've shipped (problem, approach, metrics/impact).
