Location: Remote (initially), then Hybrid in Brooklyn, NY – Must be located within 50 miles of Brooklyn.
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in AWS, Power BI, Python, and SQL to support a Medicare-focused prescription drug rebate program within a leading healthcare technology organization. This role is part of a mission-critical cloud transformation project involving pharmacy benefits data, claims, and government reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop scalable ETL pipelines and automate workflows using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions
• Build and optimize data models, dashboards, and KPIs using Power BI
• Write, review, and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts for performance and reliability
• Work with cross-functional teams including data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Ensure data solutions meet federal privacy, security, and compliance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
1. 5+ years of experience in data engineering or BI development
1. Hands-on with AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions)
1. Strong Power BI and SQL experience, including DAX and performance tuning
1. Proficiency in Python or Scala
1. Experience with data orchestration, monitoring, and SLA tracking
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
(Must be eligible for Federal Trust Clearance)
Preferred Experience
• Healthcare, pharmacy benefit, or Medicare data experience
• Knowledge of data governance, cloud security, and compliance standards
• Certifications in AWS, Power BI, or related platforms
Compensation & Details
Contract: 6–12 months with opportunity to convert to FTE
Core Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
