We’re seeking to connect a Senior DevOps Engineer with a leading company in the insurance industry on a full-time basis. The role is located in Detroit, MI. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead our transition from legacy infrastructure to a modern, cloud-native environment, shaping the future of our technology stack to enhance agility, scalability, and innovation. Key Responsibilities: • Integrate Java/JEE and WebSphere applications into DEV, Test, and Production environments, ensuring adherence to deployment and integration standards. • Design, develop, implement, and support the runtime architecture for complex system landscapes. • Automate deployment processes and configurations to enhance operational efficiency. • Participate in project meetings, contributing to the design and implementation of middleware solutions. • Engage in architectural discussions, providing designs and recommendations that influence technology decisions. • Conduct periodic reviews of the technical operating environment, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and policies. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role. • Proven experience in designing and supporting modern CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible). • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Shell, and PERL. • Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps best practices. • Hands-on experience with application servers and middleware technologies (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat). Preferred Qualifications: • Background in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries. • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL). • Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
