Weβre seeking to connect a Senior DevOps Engineer with a leading company in the insurance industry on a full-time basis. The role is located in Detroit, MI. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead our transition from legacy infrastructure to a modern, cloud-native environment, shaping the future of our technology stack to enhance agility, scalability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Integrate Java/JEE and WebSphere applications into DEV, Test, and Production environments, ensuring adherence to deployment and integration standards.
β’ Design, develop, implement, and support the runtime architecture for complex system landscapes.
β’ Automate deployment processes and configurations to enhance operational efficiency.
β’ Participate in project meetings, contributing to the design and implementation of middleware solutions.
β’ Engage in architectural discussions, providing designs and recommendations that influence technology decisions.
β’ Conduct periodic reviews of the technical operating environment, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and policies.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
β’ 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
β’ Proven experience in designing and supporting modern CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
β’ Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Shell, and PERL.
β’ Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps best practices.
β’ Hands-on experience with application servers and middleware technologies (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat).
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Background in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
β’ Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
β’ Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
