Sr Google Data Engineer

Job Summary • As an Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data solutions using Google BigQuery and SQL Server. • Focus on optimizing data workflows, integrations, and performance across large-scale data environments. • Drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency in the company’s data architecture to support strategic business initiatives. Key Responsibilities SQL Server Development • Design, develop, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. • Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization. • Manage SQL Server databases, including backups, restores, user permissions, and monitoring. • Work on ETL processes, data imports/exports, and integration with external systems. Google BigQuery • Develop and optimize BigQuery SQL scripts for large-scale datasets. • Build and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and GCP services such as Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub. • Implement partitioning, clustering, and cost-optimized architecture strategies. • Transform and analyze data to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence requirements. Deployment & Automation Scripts • Develop and maintain deployment and automation scripts using technologies such as: • PowerShell • Bash / Shell scripting • Python • Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager (nice to have) • Automate database deployments through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar. • Create scripts for schema updates, data migrations, and environment configuration management. Qualifications • 10+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or data architecture roles. • Extensive experience designing and implementing data architectures using Google BigQuery and SQL Server. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Proven experience optimizing data workflows and performance across large-scale data environments. • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance standards. • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. • Ability to lead, mentor, and guide technical teams in data engineering initiatives. • Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud data platforms.
