Title : Sr. SAS Developer Location : Albany, New York Duration : 30 Months Client : NY State - NYS Department of Health Job ID: SLG - 19 - 10795 Respond by: 07/03/25 5:00 PM Description Contractor will receive and manage data extracts from ECLRS and CDESS from the Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems, and extracts from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The contractor will manage, update, and enhance the Hepatitis Elimination and Epidemiology Dataset (HEED) through data matching activities with other communicable and chronic disease programs across the New York State Department of Health; conduct regular data matches with New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's hepatitis surveillance dataset; develop processes and procedures to maintain the dataset and its data quality; update HEED on regular basis with newly reported cases and laboratory results for persons living with hepatitis C; conduct analyses of HEED data to provide updated New York State Hepatitis C Elimination metrics for public-facing dashboard and support hepatitis C elimination efforts. Duties • The contractor is responsible for performing complex data queries to extract, cleanse, collapse and sort data tables from multiple relational databases. • Using Dataflux to conduct complex matches of multiple datasets; combining datasets from multiple sources according to complex protocol. • Performing complex statistical analyses using SAS and other statistical and graphical software packages. • Providing aggregated data for display on public facing dashboard; and creating status reports to monitor progress. • Generate quality assurance reports; create data visualization to support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement. • Other data activities include validating SAS programming code for data requests, reports and analysis; evaluating the matching of STI, HCV, HIV registries and other disease specific registries; conduct analysis of match results; responding to requests for HEED data from the Committee for Matched Data Access (CMDA); serving as liaison to dashboard developer; and collaborate with other program staff. “ Mandatory Requirements • Experience (10+ Years) • Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
