Job Role: Sr. Software/Data Engineer Pay Rate: $70-$75/hr. on W2 Eligibility: USC, GC, GC-EAD, H4EAD Duration: This contract is longer 15 months Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid Onsite) Needs: Ex Amazon Can Convert c2h Need them to be a software engineer mostly that can do data engineering work JAVA, TYPESCRIPT, PYTHON, DATA PIPELINES, AWS Job description: Data Engineer III Location: Bellevue, Washington (Onsite) Role Overview This role supports a compliance solutions team by combining data engineering and software engineering responsibilities. You will build data pipelines, backend services, and analytics components for a satellite communications service. The focus is on developing regulatory and compliance-driven data solutions, with approximately 60-70% greenfield development and the remainder enhancing existing systems. You will work within established architectural patterns to help meet regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities • Implement logical and physical data models and ETL/ELT pipelines to consolidate compliance data. • Build and maintain event-driven integration components, such as data pipelines, Lambda functions, and Step Functions workflows. • Implement backend services including APIs, workflow orchestrations, and dashboard backends. • Write, test, and deploy well-written, maintainable, and secure production code. • Implement data quality checks, validation, and monitoring for compliance-critical datasets. • Extend existing services to support new compliance requirements and jurisdictions. • Build components that handle sensitive regulatory data with appropriate encryption and access controls. • Contribute to self-service analytics through reporting tools and dashboards. • Maintain production systems with comprehensive monitoring, alarming, and logging. • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies. Required Qualifications Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is required. Experience: 3+ years of data engineering experience, including data modelling, pipeline development, and data warehouse design, along with 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience building production services. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript; strong SQL skills; and experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and DynamoDB. Preferred Qualifications • Experience building event-driven architectures using Step Functions, EventBridge, or SQS/SNS. • Experience with serverless development patterns on AWS. • Experience with infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation). • Familiarity with regulatory compliance or telecommunications domains.
