Role description
Supply Chain Planner (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in managing supply chain planning operations for a rapidly expanding cloud business. Working in a cross-functional capacity, you will serve as a vital link between demand forecasting and downstream sourcing partners while contributing to strategic planning initiatives. The role combines hands-on supply planning execution with advanced data analytics and automation development, requiring someone who can independently manage complex supply changes while building sophisticated reporting solutions. You will gain firsthand exposure to cloud infrastructure growth and emerging AI technologies, working with global teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations. This position demands a self-starter who can work autonomously on data-intensive projects while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Job Responsibilities
β’ Manage end-to-end supply planning processes, including demand-supply alignment, forecast validation, and supportability analysis
β’ Design and build interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for supply planning metrics such as forecast accuracy, buffer health, and rack supportability
β’ Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate data flow between SAP IBP and ISP dashboards
β’ Monitor inventory health, purchase order coverage, and lead-time logic to maintain planning accuracy
β’ Implement governance best practices for Power BI workspaces, roles, and data security
β’ Connect multiple data sources into Power BI for consolidated views and reporting
β’ Develop custom visuals and advanced analytics to support strategic decision-making
β’ Optimize dashboards for usability and performance while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
β’ Ensure data accuracy and consistency across planning and reporting platforms
β’ Participate in meetings with global teams to discuss actions and provide status updates
β’ Manage day-to-day supply changes and create Power BI automations to improve operational efficiency
Requirements
β’ Minimum 5 years of supply chain or supply planning experience, preferably in technology hardware or related industries
β’ Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience creating dashboards and reports in Power BI
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field
β’ Power BI Data Analyst certification is highly preferred
β’ Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and dashboard design
β’ Strong experience with SAP IBP or similar supply planning tools
β’ Advanced proficiency with SQL for data extraction and manipulation
β’ Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis
β’ Strong analytical skills with expertise in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
β’ Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
β’ Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
β’ Knowledge of governance frameworks for business intelligence tools, including workspace roles, security, and compliance
β’ Strategic thinking and business acumen with ability to drive corrective actions and process efficiencies
β’ Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
