Genesis10 is seeking a Systems/Business Analyst for a 12 month contract position with our energy services client. This will be a remote opportunity. Compensation: $55.00 - 66.00 per hour W2, depending on skill and experience level. Position Overview This is a growth-based role supporting the Operations Capital Delivery Team within client. The Systems Business Analyst II will primarily support GIS-related capital projects, including enhancement requests and incremental improvements. The role is designed to fill a gap between business stakeholders and developers by translating business needs into actionable requirements. Key Responsibilities β€’ Gather and document functional and non-functional requirements. β€’ Conduct research and define user stories for enhancement requests. β€’ Partner with product owners to vet and prioritize incoming requests. β€’ Collaborate with developers to ensure clarity and completeness of requirements. β€’ Assist with ULC governance processes and QA coordination. β€’ May support projects like GIS mapping enhancements and other operations software initiatives. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience: 4-6 years in a large, matrixed corporate environment; utility and GIS experience strongly preferred. Skills: β€’ Strong written and verbal communication. β€’ Ability to manage multiple assignments (2-3 initially, scaling to 3-5). β€’ Proficiency in JIRA and Excel. β€’ Comfortable working in an agile or hybrid methodology. β€’ Self-starter with strong time management and collaboration skills. β€’ Education: No specific degree required; commensurate experience is acceptable. β€’ Certifications: None required. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis: Business Analysts gather and analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within an organization. They convert complex data into actionable insights for decision-makers. Requirements Gathering: They work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and document business requirements, ensuring that technical solutions align with business objectives. Process Improvement: Client evaluate existing business processes and propose enhancements to increase efficiency and productivity. They often create business process models to illustrate current and future states. Collaboration: Acting as a liaison, Business Analysts facilitate communication between IT and business teams, ensuring that all parties are aligned on project goals and requirements.
