Position Details: Position: Tableau Developer with Alteryx Location: Jersey City, NJ Pay Range: $60 - $65/hr. Duration: 12-18 Months (Possibility of Full-Time Conversion) About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tableau Developer with Alteryx expertise to join our team in Jersey City. This role requires a strong foundation in both data preparation (Alteryx) and data visualization (Tableau) to support end-to-end business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will blend technical acumen with strong business understanding to deliver insightful, actionable dashboards that drive decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Data Preparation & ETL (Alteryx-Focused): • Design, develop, and maintain complex Alteryx workflows for data blending, cleansing, and transformation. • Integrate data from various sources including databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and flat files. • Automate and schedule workflows for timely data refresh and delivery. • Optimize workflow performance for large-scale data processing. • Write advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. • Apply best practices in data modeling, including star and snowflake schema designs. Data Visualization & Reporting (Tableau-Focused): • Develop dynamic and interactive Tableau dashboards that visualize key business metrics. • Utilize advanced Tableau features including LOD expressions, parameters, and calculated fields. • Publish, manage, and monitor dashboards on Tableau Server/Online. • Optimize dashboards for performance and usability. • Apply design best practices for clean, clear, and effective data storytelling. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions. • Present insights in a compelling narrative to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment. Required Skills & Qualifications: • 3-6 years of professional experience in Tableau and Alteryx development. • Strong hands-on expertise in Alteryx Designer for ETL and automation. • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and transformation. • Deep knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Server/Online features and functionality. • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and performance optimization strategies. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
