Role description
Role Title: Tableau Developer Employment Type: Contract Duration: 3 months Preferred Location: Remote but working Mountain Time hours Role Description: We are seeking a skilled Tableau Developer to play a pivotal role in a strategic Quote-to-Cash (QTC) transformation initiative. This role is focused on designing, developing, and maintaining insightful reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to key stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain visually compelling and highly interactive Tableau dashboards and reports to support our Quote-to-Cash program, from executive-level summaries to detailed operational metrics. • Collaborate closely with business leaders, analysts, and technical teams to gather and understand reporting requirements, translating them into effective and scalable data visualizations. • Connect to and work with large, complex datasets from disparate source systems, including our data warehouse (Amazon Redshift) and key business applications (Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite). • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting. • Apply core principles of data visualization and information design to create reports and dashboards that are intuitive, easy to understand, and effectively communicate key insights. • Take ownership of data accuracy and integrity, ensuring consistency and reliability across all reporting deliverables while optimizing dashboards for performance and usability. • Manage the deployment and maintenance of dashboards within the Tableau Cloud environment. • Create and maintain clear documentation for data sources, dashboard logic, and user guides to ensure transparency and scalability. • Conduct comprehensive testing of all developed dashboards and reports to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and optimal performance Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess deep Tableau expertise, a strong command of data visualization best practices, and a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into powerful, data-driven solutions that drive decision-making. Required Qualifications • 3-5+ years of dedicated professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex dashboards and reports in Tableau. • Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries to manipulate and extract data from various sources. • Hands-on experience with data warehouses as a primary data source, specifically Amazon Redshift. • Familiarity with data from ERP/CRM systems required; specific experience with Salesforce (SFDC), Zuora, and/or NetSuite is highly desirable. • Demonstrated understanding of data visualization best practices, including chart selection, color theory, and visual hierarchy to effectively present data. • A portfolio of work that showcases your ability to tell stories and answer business questions with data. • Experience deploying and managing content in a Tableau Cloud environment. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Tableau certifications (e.g., Tableau Data Analyst, Certified Associate). • Direct experience with Quote-to-Cash (QTC) or Order-to-Cash (O2C) business processes and reporting. • Exposure to other BI/data tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx) or data-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python, R). • Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and agile environment.
