Senior Technical Analyst
We're working with a leading global technology organisation seeking an experienced Senior Technical Analyst to join a major cloud data platform programme.
This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering and Data, helping shape platform capabilities, define technical requirements and deliver large-scale data initiatives across modern cloud infrastructure.
You'll work closely with engineering teams, architects and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, supporting data ingestion, transformation, governance and analytics across a highly distributed platform.
What You'll Be Doing
• Work with product, engineering and business teams to gather and refine technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritised backlogs.
• Analyse complex data flows and define end-to-end data movement across multiple systems.
• Support delivery of cloud-based data platform initiatives covering ingestion, transformation and analytics.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on scalable data platform architecture and integration.
• Produce functional and technical documentation for large-scale platform enhancements.
• Work within Agile delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• Help improve data governance, metadata management and platform standards.
• Support delivery across modern event-driven and streaming architectures.
Required Experience
• Strong commercial experience as a Technical Analyst, Senior Technical Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar.
• Experience working on enterprise data platforms or large-scale data engineering programmes.
• Strong requirements gathering, backlog management and user story creation.
• Advanced SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience analysing complex data models, ETL pipelines and data warehouses.
• Strong understanding of data ingestion, transformation and analytics architectures.
• Experience working within AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform environments.
• Comfortable working closely with engineering teams in Agile environments.
Desirable Skills
• Apache Kafka or Google Pub/Sub
• BigQuery
• Snowflake
• dbt
• Amazon S3 / SQS
• Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• DataHub or other metadata/catalogue tooling
• JSON, YAML or HOCON
