Technical Analyst – Trade & transaction reporting
City of London
Hybrid (3/2 split)
12-months contract
£514 - £920 per day (via Umbrella)
cer Financial are working alongside an international bank who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Technical Analyst to work with them on a 12-month contract.
The responsibilities of the Technical Analyst will include:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, compliance teams, and IT developers to gather and analyse requirements for trade and transaction reporting.
• Translate regulatory requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Support the design, development, and testing of reporting solutions for MIFID II, EMIR, SFTR, and other applicable regulations.
• Perform data analysis and validation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot reporting issues.
• Maintain documentation of data flows, system interfaces, and reporting logic.
• Participate in regulatory change initiatives and impact assessments.
• Liaise with external vendors and regulators as needed.
• Lead product analysts, engineers, developers and support professionals across the banks IT teams and third-party vendors delivering solutions to MiFIR/MiFID II, EMIR/EMIR Refit, and SFTR transaction reporting and pre/post trade transparency requirements
• Ensure TTR IT staff are optimally allocated between project and BAU delivery requirements
• Consult to Front Office and Operations, Compliance and IT teams (development and QA) on all facets of transaction reporting within the banks EMEA business to ensure optimal delivery of change.
• Perform detailed data analysis, identifying transaction reporting issues, back reporting datasets, and supporting root-cause analysis.
• Mentor product analysts in transaction reporting requirements, business/product analysis techniques, data analysis techniques, and delivery management.
• Ensure team processes and procedures are adhered to and contributing to continual improvement in team delivery and productivity
• Curate, maintain and ensure ongoing accuracy of product backlog for the TTR Product stream within Jira and Confluence
The successful Technical Analyst will have:
• Proven experience as a Technical Analyst or Business Analyst in an Investment Banking or Capital Markets environment.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments including derivatives, equities, fixed income, and FX.
• Hands-on experience with regulatory reporting frameworks: MIFID II, EMIR, SFTR.
• Familiarity with trade lifecycle and transaction data from front to back-office systems.
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
• Experience working with reporting platforms (e.g., UnaVista, DTCC, Regis-TR) is a plus.
• Degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in Jira/Confluence.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms or big data technologies.
