About the Role
We are seeking two experienced Technical Business Analysts to support a large life insurance client implementing a new reinsurance contract. This is a critical initiative with a go-live targeted for next month. The successful candidates will partner closely with functional SMEs and technical teams to translate business requirements into detailed technical specificationsโincluding data movements, calculations, and reference data needs.
These roles require a strong blend of insurance domain expertise, technical acumen, and data analysis skills to ensure system designs and data mappings are accurate, efficient, and fully aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications (data movements, calculations, reference data, etc.).
Partner with functional SMEs to validate requirements and proposed system solutions.
Participate in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate system designs.
Map source systems and calculation workbooks to target calculation database tables.
Write and review SQL queries, validate outputs, and analyze data for accuracy.
Collaborate cross-functionally with business and technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of proven experience as a Technical BA or Data Analyst
Must have insurance industry (life/reinsurance experience highly preferred) client experience.
Strong understanding of data models, data mining, and data segmentation techniques.
Ability to translate functional requirements into technical deliverables.
Proficiency with SQL (writing queries, analyzing outputs, troubleshooting issues).
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience working directly with life insurance or reinsurance contracts.
Prior consulting experience in large-scale insurance system implementations.
Familiarity with actuarial models, reporting systems, or finance transformation projects.
