Role description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst on a contract basis (INSIDE IR35) to support the definition, shaping, and delivery of analytics capabilities across our client’s data landscape. The role focuses on translating business objectives into clear, actionable requirements and supporting the development of scalable, high-quality data and analytics solutions. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, Product Owners, and wider technology teams to ensure requirements are accurately captured, understood, and delivered throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis expertise, solid understanding of SDLC and data-focused projects, and the ability to operate confidently within complex, multi-stakeholder environments. This role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented analyst with a passion for enabling data-driven outcomes and driving consistency across delivery processes.
Skills:-
Build and maintain strong relationships across IT, business teams, and external suppliers
Lead key activities throughout the project lifecycle to support the development of analytics products and data platform capabilities
Maintain and manage a prioritised pipeline of new feature requests and demand items
Facilitate workshops and seminars, presenting ideas, concepts, and solutions to varied audiences
Run stakeholder meetings to elicit, clarify, and document business requirements
Produce functional and non-functional requirements and user stories for data analytics initiatives
Support business case development through structured analysis and estimation processes
Translate business objectives into high-quality technical documentation to support governance and delivery
Assist teams in producing technical artefacts required for smooth implementation
Collaborate with technical and business teams to quality-assure delivery through testing and release cycles
Act as a key link between Product Owners and delivery teams throughout development
Identify and drive continuous improvement across tools, processes, and product delivery
Support the design and execution of proof of concept, proof of technology, and prototype work
Provide thought leadership to promote best practices and collaborative working patterns
Identify opportunities to promote self-service analytics and improve data literacy in business teams
Mentor, coach, and guide team members across the data and analytics community
Analyse complex business processes, highlighting risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimisation
Use SQL, Python, and Excel to query, analyse, and interpret large data sets
Apply business analysis techniques, documentation standards, and agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban)
Work effectively in complex environments, resolving issues proactively and escalating only when necessary
