Job Title: Technical Business Analyst Project: Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Type: Contract Duration: TBD Location: Remote (local to Kansas City area preferred) Brief Description The IT Technical Business Analyst (IT BA) serves as a key liaison between business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors for a large enterprise systems integration project. This role requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong technical acumen, capable of navigating complex enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to assess, document, and translate business and technical requirements to deliver scalable IT solutions. The role demands strong leadership in business analysis on large-scale projects, as well as experience in agile or hybrid environments. Experience Required β€’ Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst (BA). β€’ At least 2 years of Lead BA experience. β€’ 4+ years of experience analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements for system integrations. β€’ Strong understanding of modern IT systems, data architecture, and cloud-based solutions. β€’ Experience collaborating across departments, agencies, and third-party vendors. β€’ Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid IT environments. β€’ Preferred: Knowledge of State Government and/or Department for Children and Families. Technical Skills & Tools β€’ Microsoft Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint, Teams β€’ Requirements Management: Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Planner β€’ Process Modeling & Documentation: Lucid, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite β€’ Data Tools: SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate β€’ Collaboration Tools: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook β€’ Other: SDLC documentation & technical specifications, Agile/Hybrid project environments Education Required β€’ Preferred: BA/BS degree in Business Administration/Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science. β€’ Relevant experience may be substituted for education. General Duties β€’ Lead and support discovery, analysis, and documentation of current and future state systems and technology integrations. β€’ Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications. β€’ Collaborate across departments, government agencies, and third-party vendors. β€’ Support requirements gathering, data analysis, user acceptance testing, and solution development. β€’ Plan and organize work sessions on program policies, procedures, and systems. β€’ Review and edit requirements and business process documents. Specific Duties β€’ Serve as Lead Business Analyst on enterprise integration initiatives. β€’ Facilitate requirements elicitation workshops, stakeholder interviews, and collaborative sessions. β€’ Analyze current systems, workflows, and data flows to identify opportunities for modernization. β€’ Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria. β€’ Oversee integration management activities with internal and external stakeholders. β€’ Contribute to solution design, technical documentation, interface specifications, and data models. β€’ Perform data analysis and reporting using SQL, Power BI, and Tableau. β€’ Support QA/test teams with UAT coordination and validation. β€’ Manage requirements traceability, version control, and change management.
