Role description
This is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity. Candidates MUST be local to the Atlanta, GA area, as the role is onsite 2 days a week. No C2C, OPT, or Visa consideration. No vendor support of any kind allowed.
Technical Business Analyst
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, document, and analyze detailed business and systems requirements by engaging with internal stakeholders (e.g., product, operations, compliance) and external partners or vendors.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery teams.
• Analyze existing systems, data flows, and integrations to identify gaps and recommend enhancements or new solutions.
• Work closely with technical teams to define system architecture impacts, data mapping, interface requirements, and integration specifications.
• Support Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring technical requirements are understood and feasible.
• Assist in developing test plans and scripts, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and verify that delivered solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with external vendors to define integration points, coordinate technical deliverables, and troubleshoot system issues.
• Document system designs, process flows, and data models in a clear and organized manner accessible to both business and technical audiences.
• Identify and escalate technical risks, dependencies, or constraints that could impact delivery timelines or quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to business processes, system configurations, or technical practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Strong technical capabilities, including experience analyzing data structures, systems integrations, APIs, and data mapping.
• Hands-on experience gathering and translating requirements for complex systems projects in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Working knowledge of SQL or basic querying skills to support data validation and analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with policy administration, claims processing, billing systems, or core financial platforms is a plus.
• Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to build trust and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
