Role description
Technical Business Analyst – Regulatory Data (Contract) Location: London (Hybrid) 3 days per week on site required Rate: £300–£500 per day (umbrella) Duration: Initial 12-months We’re supporting a global financial services organisation on the build and enhancement of a large internal data platform supporting Risk and regulatory reporting initiatives. This is an opportunity for a mid-level Technical Business Analyst with strong regulatory banking experience to join a collaborative delivery team working across Business, Data and Technology functions. About the Role You’ll support the analysis and delivery of regulatory and risk-focused data initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear functional and technical documentation. The role sits within a data platform programme, but is suited to someone comfortable operating in a structured, governance-driven banking environment rather than owning architecture design end-to-end. Key Responsibilities • Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements • Support production of functional specifications and user stories • Work with technology teams on system enhancements and reporting changes • Assist with data mapping, data validation and reconciliation activities • Support migration or enhancement of reporting solutions • Coordinate testing activities (UAT support, test case review, defect tracking) • Engage with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and IT • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and delivery governance What We’re Looking For • Strong Business / Systems Analysis experience within banking or financial services • Exposure to regulatory initiatives (e.g. Basel, IFRS, FINREP/COREP, Risk reporting) • Experience working on data or reporting-focused projects • Understanding of data flows, interfaces and system integrations • Comfortable working in Agile environments (JIRA / Confluence) • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills • Experience supporting testing and implementation phases Desirable (Not Essential) • SQL knowledge for data analysis • Exposure to Azure-based environments • Experience with Power BI or reporting tools • Understanding of Risk or Finance data domains Why This Role? • Join a high-profile regulatory data programme • Work within a collaborative and well-structured delivery team • Opportunity to deepen exposure to enterprise data platforms • Competitive day rate within a stable banking environment Pontoon is an employment consultancy.
