Technical Business Analyst β Cloud Migration
Hybrid (London, 1β2 days per week) | 6 months+ | Outisde IR35
We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale government data programme focused on the adoption of modern cloud services. This role requires deep engagement with business and technical stakeholders to define, document, and align requirements for infrastructure, platforms, and applications, and to provide structured input into migration planning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate requirements discovery workshops with relevant teams.
Capture and document security, compliance, downtime tolerance, budget constraints, and service dependencies, mapping against business criticality.
Align requirements with the organisationβs cloud capability and service catalogue.
Provide technical BA support to the development of a risk-managed, phased migration strategy and plan for transitioning services into the target cloud platform.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to validate requirements, identify risks, and ensure traceability from business need through to solution design.
Produce clear artefacts (process maps, dependency diagrams, requirements traceability, risk logs) to support programme governance.Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst within large-scale government or regulated data programmes.
Strong cloud knowledge and hands-on experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP), with an understanding of infrastructure, platform, and SaaS adoption patterns.
Experience capturing and documenting technical and business requirements across security, compliance, resilience, and cost dimensions.
Strong ability to map service dependencies and assess system/business criticality.
Experience supporting cloud migration programmes and developing phased migration plans.
Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.Desirable
Knowledge of government frameworks (GDS standards, SFIA) and regulatory environments.
Familiarity with data-centric programmes, governance, and information assurance in government contexts.
Exposure to DevOps, containerisation, and automated deployment in cloud environments
