Role description
ace has partnered with a prestigious, leading global financial institution to appoint an experienced Transaction Reporting Change & Release Lead to own the end-to-end lifecycle of UK/EU transaction reporting change from regulatory interpretation through to controlled production deployment. This is a hybrid technical business analyst & hands-on SQL/development role. You will act as the bridge between Compliance, Operations, Risk and Technology, translating regulatory requirements into actionable change specifications, governing release delivery, and strengthening production controls. A core objective is reducing key person dependency by standardising documentation, runbooks, knowledge transfer, and repeatable release processes. Please note this role requires presence in the client's London office (days to be confirmed). Responsibilities Change, Release & Governance β€’ Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of UK/EU transaction reporting changes: regulatory interpretation, impact assessment, prioritisation, build/test coordination, production deployment β€’ Govern reporting logic changes across reporting platforms and upstream systems, leading release planning, change prioritisation, and delivery timelines aligned to regulatory and business deadlines β€’ Ensure all changes follow formal governance and approval processes (e.g., CAB, go/no-go decisions), with strong evidence capture and audit trails β€’ Act as the key liaison across Compliance, COO, Technology, Operations, Risk, and external ARMs/vendors Technology & Processes β€’ Partner with developers and architecture to build a detailed understanding of transaction reporting infrastructure, data flows, dependencies, and the existing build/test/release process β€’ Translate regulatory and business requirements into actionable delivery artefacts: requirements, functional specs, rules, validation logic, and acceptance criteria β€’ Reduce key person dependency through improved documentation, knowledge sharing, and clearer cross-functional understanding of reporting systems and logic β€’ Support the design and rollout of more robust, scalable and repeatable release processes for reporting change Transaction Reporting SME β€’ Act as an SME on UK/EU reporting requirements including ARMs, reportable fields, and validation rules, converting regulatory text into implementable rules and specifications β€’ Provide guidance on regulatory interpretation, including ESMA Q&As and ARM feedback, ensuring reporting logic remains aligned to current obligations β€’ Define technical change requirements across fields, mappings, validations, and exception handling Testing, Release, Controls & Defect Management β€’ Define and execute end-to-end testing and release assurance for reporting logic changes (system, regression, and UAT), ensuring robust evidence, data-quality controls, and formal sign-off prior to deployment β€’ Manage controlled production deployments and fixes, agreeing deployment steps, rollback and contingency plans with Technology, and coordinating validation with Operations β€’ Perform post-deployment validations, reconciliations, and control checks to confirm reporting completeness and accuracy, and lead root cause analysis for defects through to remediation via controlled change Requirements β€’ Strong experience delivering UK/EU transaction reporting change in a regulated environment, including regulatory interpretation through to production deployment β€’ Demonstrated ownership of formal change and release governance (CAB/go-no-go, evidence, audit trail, approvals) β€’ Detailed understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle data across OTC and exchange-traded workflows β€’ Advanced SQL skills (complex query design, optimisation, stored procedures) for deep investigation, reconciliation, and defect analysis across multiple systems β€’ Coding capability in C# or Python for data manipulation, control automation, and delivery utilities (e.g., enrichment scripts, reconciliation tooling, file parsers, API clients) β€’ Experience working with ARMs/TRs, CCP/clearing data, and exchange reporting workflows; familiarity with common schemas (e.g., EMIR RTS/ITS fields) strongly preferred β€’ Ability to interpret regulatory texts and convert them into actionable rules, validation checks, and technical specifications β€’ Strong problem-solving mindset, high attention to data quality, and excellent stakeholder communication Benefits Initial 12-month contract Rate to be discussed London-based role (onsite expectation to be confirmed) About Us ace is a specialist post-digital advisory and delivery partner helping financial institutions implement high-impact automation, AI, and post-digital solutions in regulated environments.
