Technical Data Engineer 📍 Location: Filton (60% Onsite) 🕒 Hours: 35 per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am–7pm) 💼 Contract: Until 31/03/2026 (likely extension) 💰 Rate: £45.00/hr Umbrella | £33.64/hr PAYE 🔐 Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by client security) 🛫 Travel: Occasional 🧾 IR35: Off-payroll working rules apply About the Role Our Client is seeking a Technical Data Engineer to join their Landing Gear team, responsible for producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for aircraft maintenance. This includes the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and Troubleshooting Manual (TSM), supporting the full lifecycle of aircraft operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safety, maintainability, and operational efficiency of a growing in-service fleet, while engaging directly with airline customers and internal engineering teams. Key Responsibilities • Author and manage updates to AMM and TSM for Landing Gear systems. • Analyse engineering inputs (e.g., drawings, design changes) to assess impact on documentation. • Ensure compliance with ICA (Instructions for Continued Airworthiness) and EASA regulations. • Respond to customer queries via technical request tools, ensuring timely and accurate support. • Lead review meetings with design offices and subcontractors, managing workload and priorities. • Monitor subcontracted authoring activities and ensure delivery to time, cost, and quality standards. • Support Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations and proactively resolve in-service issues. • Drive continuous improvement in documentation processes and tools. • Represent the team in transnational meetings and contribute to digital service development. Ideal Candidate Profile • Background in Aerospace Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance. • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and configuration management. • Experience with technical writing and international authoring standards. • Hands-on aircraft experience (e.g., RAF) is highly desirable.
