Tech Lead – Public Sector Screening Programme (Contract)
Inside IR35 | Hybrid X2 days a week in Leeds| 3 Months + Extension
We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer / Technical Lead to help modernise and enhance a large-scale national screening platform used by millions across the UK. The service plays a key role in early detection and prevention, and you’ll be central to improving its performance, stability, and accessibility.
You’ll lead one of two multidisciplinary teams working on a long-running Java and Oracle-based application, guiding the transition towards cloud hosting and continuous deployment. Alongside maintenance, you’ll deliver key new features, including a shift from manual to fully digital communications.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership, modern engineering practices (TDD, CI/CD, pair programming), and making a tangible difference through technology.
