Technical Product Owner

Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid – onsite 3 days a week) 12-month contract (with possible extension) Pay Range: $60-70hr Role Overview: We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to support a platform and integration team working across multiple business areas. This isn’t a traditional “single product” role — you’ll be driving intake, prioritization, and Agile execution across a mix of platform enhancements, integrations, and data initiatives. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility environment where priorities shift, so we need someone who can bring structure, clarity, and strong execution. What You’ll Be Doing: - Own intake and shape incoming work across business and technical teams - Manage and prioritize a single consolidated backlog across multiple initiatives - Translate ambiguous requests into clear, actionable user stories - Lead Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retros) - Partner closely with engineering to ensure work is execution-ready - Communicate priorities, trade-offs, and risks to stakeholders Tech Environment: - AWS (Lambda, ECS, Aurora, DynamoDB) - Python / backend services - Kafka + event-driven architecture - Data pipelines (Glue, PySpark) - Terraform + CI/CD You don’t need to be hands-on, but you should be comfortable operating in this environment. What We’re Looking For: - Experience as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Product Management, or similar role - Strong Agile facilitation experience (not just participation) - Background working with platform, integration, or data teams - Ability to bring structure to ambiguous, fast-moving environments - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - Experience in AWS cloud environments Nice to Have: - Exposure to data platforms or analytics - Experience supporting multiple teams or domains What Success Looks Like: - Clear, prioritized backlog aligned to business needs - Smooth, effective Agile execution - Engineers receiving well-defined, actionable work - Stakeholders aligned on priorities and trade-offs About Us: At Brooksource, relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
