Telecom Engineer with SMF AND Python

Please share your resume at dollyg@boston-technology.com Sr. Telecom Engineer Remote We are seeking a skilled and proactive Gateway Application Engineer to support the deployment and integration of a new Ericsson SMF/UPF environment within a Mobile Private Network (MPN) infrastructure. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative, focused on Day 0 and Day 1 deployments, automation, and seamless customer migrations. You’ll work alongside a talented team of engineers to deliver MPN as a service across diverse platforms, ensuring high availability and zero downtime. Key Responsibilities • Lead site turn-ups and First Office Application (FOA) deployments for new SMF/UPF environments. • Perform customer and account migrations with zero service interruption. • Develop and execute automation scripts for pre/post checks, on-air validation, and migration workflows. • Collaborate with transport teams to integrate with Cisco/Nokia SR fabric. • Ensure smooth handoff to operations teams and support transition to production. • Work within approved maintenance windows, primarily during night shifts, to minimize customer impact. • Assist with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and Helm deployments in a Linux environment. Must-Have Skills 2 to 4 years of experience with: • OpenStack • Kubernetes • Python • Ansible • Docker (including docker-compose) • Linux system administration • Hands-on experience with Ericsson SMF/UPF components • Strong understanding of project management fundamentals: • -Task tracking and deadline management • -Status reporting and stakeholder communication
