Role description
Position: Test Automation Engineers
Openings: 2
PR: $89.75/hr
Duration: 1 year with extensions
Location: Chandler, AZ or Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX
Must-Haves:
• Advanced PowerShell programming and automation development
• Ability to independently design and build automation solutions
• Experience creating complex scripts with advanced logic, conditional workflows, and error handling
• Deep understanding of Group Policy internals and management tools
• Windows Server and Windows Client systems expertise
• Experience with configuration management tools (SCCM or equivalent)
• Proven ability to solve complex business and security challenges through automation
• Experience building scalable, enterprise-level automation frameworks
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to rapidly convert security advisories and CVE mitigation guidance into automated solutions
• Experience developing deployment guardrails, validation processes, and rollback capabilities
• Programmer/developer-level PowerShell skills (not administrative scripting)
Plusses:
• Active Directory expertise, including schema, security descriptors, and replication behavior
• Experience automating Active Directory configuration management
• Git-based version control experience
• Code review experience
• Quest GP Admin experience
• Automated systems validation/testing experience

• Group Policy (GPO) administration and automation experience
Day-to-Day:
• Design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale PowerShell automation frameworks
• Develop automated solutions that implement security-driven configuration changes across Windows environments
• Translate cybersecurity advisories, threat intelligence, and CVE mitigation guidance into deployable automation within tight timelines
• Create automated workflows for system hardening, patch deployment, configuration enforcement, and remediation activities
• Develop sophisticated scripting solutions with complex decision logic, validation checkpoints, error handling, and rollback capabilities
• Build guardrails and safety controls that prevent incomplete, risky, or unintended deployments
• Partner closely with cybersecurity teams to operationalize emerging security requirements and threat mitigations
• Collaborate with infrastructure, Active Directory, and platform engineering teams to ensure enterprise standards and stability are maintained
• Automate GPO deployment, modification, testing, and rollback processes when required
• Support emergency "break-glass" security response efforts through pre-approved automation solutions
• Perform testing and validation of automation workflows prior to production deployment
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation tools, scripts, and deployment processes
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of automation standards and best practices
• Solve complex operational and security challenges by developing new automation approaches rather than relying solely on existing solutions
