Role description
Equity Derivatives Trading Tools Developer About the Role We are seeking an Equity Derivatives Trading Tools Developer to join our team supporting the US Equity Derivatives Trading Desk. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, releasing, and supporting trading tools and applications. You’ll work on a variety of small to medium-scale projects directly with the trading desk, utilizing technologies such as Python and Excel VBA, among others. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing existing applications and spreadsheets, migrating tools to a new web-based platform, developing new tools based on trader requirements, and automating routine trading activities. About You You have hands-on experience with coding in Python and Excel VBA. While knowledge of derivatives trading—particularly options pricing and risk—is a plus, it is not a prerequisite. You're a strong communicator, confident in collaborating directly with the trading desk and internal technology teams. You can adapt your communication style to both technical and non-technical audiences. You’re capable of managing all phases of development—from requirements gathering and analysis to implementation—building trust through consistent, reliable delivery. You learn from operational failures by asking “why,” identifying root causes with data, and implementing lasting solutions to prevent recurrence.
