We currently have a very exciting opportunity available with our client for a TradingHub Enginee r. This will be a fully remote role and will be a n 8-month contract position. Responsibilities • D esign, develop, and optimize database systems to support data storage, retrieval, and analysis. • Design and construct large relational databases to meet project requirements. • Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate new systems with existing data warehouse structures. • Optimize database performance by refining system functionality and ensuring efficient data retrieval. • Implement and enforce database security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality. • Perform regular data validation and quality checks to ensure database accuracy and reliability. • ETL Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data ingestion pipelines (ETL) to extract, transform, and load trading and market data into the TradingHub platform from various source systems. • TradingHub Platform Integration: Configure and integrate the TradingHub platform, ensuring seamless data flow and optimal performance of surveillance models and custom controls. • Capital Markets Data Expertise: Apply a deep understanding of financial markets, including equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives, to ensure accurate data mapping and transformation. • Data Quality and Governance: Implement a strategic data quality framework to validate and monitor the completeness and accuracy of trading data, addressing any issues to prevent false positives in surveillance alerts. • System Enhancement and Performance Tuning: Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to enhance data pipelines and system performance, introducing automation and advanced analytics where appropriate. Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate and resolve complex data-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide technical support for production systems. • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with compliance, trading, risk, and other technology teams to continuously improve data flows and overall surveillance effectiveness. • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to data mapping, data lineage, and ETL processes. Required Qualifications • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Finance, or a related field • Experience: Proven experience in a data engineering or ETL development role, preferably within a financial services or capital markets environment. • Capital Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial instruments, market data concepts, and capital markets trading practices. • ETL Expertise: Hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and optimizing complex ETL processes for large-scale data sets. • Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages like Python or C# is essential. • Database and Big Data: Experience with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is highly desirable. • Surveillance Systems: Familiarity with trade surveillance systems and platforms like TradingHub , Actimize, or SMARTS is a significant advantage. • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex data and production issues. • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and findings to a range of stakeholders. • Regulatory Knowledge: An understanding of financial regulations such as market abuse and other regulatory reporting requirements. Pay Range • The pay range for this role is $ 80.99 to $85.99 per hour. Compensation will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This rate is subject to change.
