Role description
Data Scientist (Active TS/SCI Required) – Springfield, VA (100% Onsite) The position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). This role is 100% onsite in Springfield, VA, especially during onboarding and the initial phase of the engagement. Data Scientist We're seeking a talented Data Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team supporting mission-critical initiatives for the U.S. Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and other federal government clients. In this role, you'll apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and data engineering techniques to solve complex challenges across signal processing, computer vision, geospatial analytics, and predictive modeling. What You'll Do • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data. • Evaluate data collection, storage, transport, and security requirements to support mission readiness. • Develop and deploy Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision solutions. • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, relationships, anomalies, and actionable insights. • Transform raw data into meaningful products that support operational and strategic objectives. • Build analytics solutions for geospatial intelligence, object detection, anomaly detection, signal processing, and predictive analytics. • Optimize models for edge computing and bandwidth-constrained environments. • Utilize modern development tools including Python, Docker, Git, APIs, Jupyter, VS Code, and CI/CD pipelines. • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to rapidly prototype and deliver innovative solutions. Required Qualifications • Active TS/SCI security clearance (required to start). • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field. • 4+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, analytics, or a related technical role. • Strong foundation in statistics, probability, graph theory, calculus, or other mathematical disciplines. • Experience with: • Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, OpenCV) • SQL • R • Git • Experience developing end-to-end analytics solutions from data ingestion through deployment and visualization. • Experience with computer vision, signal processing, geospatial analytics, or related applications. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in a related discipline or relevant industry certifications. • Experience with FastAPI, Docker, REST APIs, AWS and/or Azure, GitLab, Jupyter, and CI/CD pipelines. • Software engineering or application development experience. • Process automation or workflow optimization experience. • Previous support of Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or other national security programs. • Familiarity with Edge AI and low-latency machine learning deployments. • Experience working in Agile development environments. This requirement cannot be waived. Applicants without an active TS/SCI clearance will not be considered.
