Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Underwriting Business Analyst for a prestigious client in the energy industry. This role provides an excellent opportunity for mid-career professionals to leverage their analytical skills and operational expertise to support retail billing operations. The Underwriting Business Analyst will play a central role in ensuring accurate customer transactions, account maintenance, and monthly billing, collaborating across internal teams, external vendors, and utilities to maintain operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the electricity and gas customer lifecycle, from contract initiation through final account processing.
• Process daily operational tasks and electronic transactions using customer management systems.
• Monitor and resolve transaction and billing exceptions within established SLAs, escalating issues when necessary.
• Perform root cause analysis to address errors, exceptions, and process gaps, recommending and implementing solutions.
• Utilize reporting and analytical tools, including Excel, SQL, and Power BI, to identify issues and ensure compliance with internal and external SLAs.
• Support execution of new business initiatives and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for transaction and billing inquiries.
• Create and maintain process documentation for training and reference purposes; deliver training as required.
• Collaborate with internal teams, management, external vendors, and utilities to resolve issues and support projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• 3–5 years of operations or back-office experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, and SQL Server Management Studio preferred.
• Familiarity with the deregulated energy market preferred.
• Previous energy or utility industry experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills; comfort working with large datasets.
• High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
