Role description
Our financial services client in McLean, VA, is looking for an experienced Senior UX Designer to join their team on a 12-month contract. This position is onsite Monday through Friday and is 40 hours per week. The Senior UX Designer partners with product and engineering to shape end-to-end experiences across visualization and editor workflows ensuring designs are scalable, system-aligned, accessible, and iterated quickly from concept to spec. You should have experience working with Generative AI and LLMs with regards to design patters. Top Must Have Skills: - Data Graphing - LLM and AI - Experience in Figma 126.1.+ - Material Design Duties of the UX Designer: - Lead UX design for dashboards and products, including model visualizations and lifecycle editor experiences. - Translate complex requirements into flows, wireframes, high fidelity mockups, and interactive Figma prototypes with clear engineering annotations. - Define and maintain UI patterns and reusable components aligned with Material Design and the team's design system. - Embed accessibility across specs (keyboard nav, focus states, contrast, semantics, density). - Partner with engineering on feasibility, provide UX QA, and support post deployment troubleshooting. - Conduct lightweight research, usability reviews, and document decisions. - Operate within an agile, continuous delivery environment. Required of the UX Designer: - A minimum of 3 years of UX experience - Expertise in Figma: components, prototyping, responsive layouts, and spec handoff. - Strong understanding of Material components and component-driven UI design. - Demonstrated accessibility-focused design. - Proven collaboration skills with engineering and product; able to articulate tradeoffs. - Experience designing for large or dense datasets (tables, filtering, search, progressive disclosure) is highly preferred - Familiarity with visualizing complex data relationships (ERDs, dependency graphs, lineage maps) is a plus - Experience working on enterprise applications, i.e. high information density, role-based workflows, auditability, and power user patterns. - Understanding of graphing/topology visualization patterns (zoom/pan, relational navigation) - Familiarity with React design considerations is a plus In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information.
