Job title: Application Support Engineer

SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the Hydraulics Engineering Software Engineer maintains access to the databases used by engineering and technical support personnel. Supports custom business applications and users by enhancing applications and managing database backend.
JOB DUTIES
• Maintains access to the databases.
• Supports clients with networks and virtual machines.
• Supports the technical team with Hydraulic product expertise.
• Identifies opportunities for process and procedure enhancements and communicates them to drive efficiency.
• Support users by delivering new features to their business applications.
• Troubleshoot/correct reported bugs; push-out revisions.
• Deploy software for new users.
• Access SQL Server ‘back end’ for maintaining tables (data cleansing – removing null entries, corrupted data, spelling errors, etc.).
• Update SQL Server transaction codes.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of the database using “SQL Server DB Engine Tuning Advisor” and “SQL Server Profiler.”
• Backup Server databases to VM as necessary between releases of new versions

• Visual Basic language programming.
• Hydraulic product knowledge.
• Manages multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Communicates complex procedures to other colleagues.
