Role description
Web Analytics Insights Contractor Retail Client Oxfordshire £350-£400 per day - Outside IR35 This is an opportunity to join a growing business at a pivotal stage in its data and analytics journey. With the foundations of tracking and reporting now in place, they are looking for a contractor who can turn data into meaningful insights, uncover the "why" behind performance, and shape how analytics drives decision making across the organisation. The Company They are a customer-focused, digitally driven organisation investing in their data capabilities to better understand performance and optimise the customer journey. Having recently established the technical analytics foundations, they are now evolving their function to focus on insight, interpretation, and storytelling. Data is becoming central to how they make decisions, and this role will play a key part in that transformation. You will be working alongside an existing technical analyst while helping define what a future analytics team could look like. The Role and Deliverables • Analyse web analytics data to identify drivers of performance, with a focus on understanding why changes in sales, traffic, and conversion occur • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and narratives for stakeholders • Investigate customer journey performance, highlighting opportunities across pages, channels, and conversion pathways • Partner with the existing technical analytics contractor to turn tracking and reporting outputs into meaningful business insights • Proactively explore data to surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities rather than waiting for defined queries • Contribute to shaping how the analytics function should evolve, including ways of working and team structure Your Skills & Experience • Strong experience in web analytics and digital performance analysis across traffic, channels, and customer journeys • Proven ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders • A curious and investigative mindset, with the ability to independently explore data and generate hypotheses • Experience identifying drivers of performance such as conversion rate optimisation opportunities or traffic issues • Confident working alongside technical teams, translating data outputs into commercial insights • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories with data How to Apply If you are a commercially minded web analytics contractor who enjoys uncovering the "why" behind performance, please apply with your CV.
