Role description
Web Analytics / Tagging Specialist
Rate: £500 per day ( Inside IR35)
Location: Remote (occasional travel may be required)
Experience: Government / public sector experience is essential
We are seeking an experienced Web Analytics / Tagging Specialist to support a campaign relaunch. The role will focus on implementing, retargeting, and validating analytics and marketing tags to ensure accurate measurement, compliance, and readiness ahead of launch.
Primary focus
Delivery of robust, privacy-compliant tagging and analytics configuration that supports audience insight, retargeting, and performance reporting in line with GDS and GDPR standards.
Key responsibilities
Implement retargeting tags for:
1. Video viewers
1. Website visitors
1. Social media audiences
1. Newsletter sign-ups
• Amend an existing email capture event to ensure the email address is included in the event payload, in line with data-protection requirements.
• Validate all tagging and data flows using Google Tag Manager (GTM) and GA4.
• Produce a clear tagging implementation and validation report, including evidence screenshots for assurance and audit purposes.
Required capability
• SFIA Level 4 – Enable
• Works autonomously on analytics configuration and validation tasks
• Proactively identifies and resolves tagging, data-quality, or consent-related issues
• Ensures full compliance with GDPR, GDS, and organisational information-security standards
