Role description
• Now Hiring: Analyst/Developer – General 1 (W2, Onsite)
• Rapid City, SD | Black Hills Engineering Design Center
• $23/hour | Full-time | 24-month contract (option to go internal)
Caterpillar’s Cat Visual team is looking for an Analyst/Developer – General 1 to support web applications and visualization solutions, including photorealistic renders, animations, VR/AR experiences, and internal/external web tools.
This is a 100% onsite, entry-level to early-career full-stack role with equal focus on front-end and back-end development.
What You’ll Do
• Design, build, enhance, and maintain web applications and websites
• Work across front-end and back-end (full stack)
• Develop single-page applications and REST APIs
• Review and improve code based on testing and feedback
• Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript
• React, Node.js, Express
• SQL & relational databases
• REST APIs & SPA development
• C#, ASP.NET (WebForms)
• Git version control
• Tools: Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, SSMS
Nice To Have
• Microsoft Azure (preferred) or AWS
• Microsoft Access
• Visual Basic / WinForms
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in CS, IT, or Engineering
• 0–2 years experience (internships accepted)
• Open to Bachelor’s or Master’s candidates
Work Schedule
• 100% onsite (no remote)
• Flexible start time: 6:00–8:00 am
• Schedule options:
• 5×8s or
• 4×9s + half-day Friday (most common)
• No travel required

• 2nd interview reviewing approach and communication
