Role description
Contract AI Agent Developer
Staines-upon-Thames (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Outside IR35 potential | High-impact greenfield AI build
I’m supporting a leading technology organisation looking for an experienced AI Agent Developer to build a fully autonomous, web-based AI system from the ground up.
This contract role focuses on creating an intelligent agent that can interpret release notes, understand internal QA policies, generate test guides, and publish them automatically to an internal platform.
If you’ve built production-level LLM applications and want a project where your work directly transforms operational efficiency, this is a rare opportunity.
The work
• Build end-to-end AI agent functionality using modern LLM APIs
• Design NLP pipelines to interpret release notes and technical policy documents
• Implement RAG systems using frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Create backend integrations for automated content publishing
• Develop a simple web UI for review and oversight
• Work closely with QA teams to refine outputs and agent behaviour
What you’ll need
• Strong Python (or Node.js/Java) backend experience
• Commercial experience building with LLM APIs
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar
• Background in backend or full-stack engineering
• UK working rights required
Nice to have
• Experience with agentic AI systems
• Cloud deployment experience (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• CI/CD and DevOps exposure
• Portfolio showing automation or AI project delivery
If you're an AI-focused engineer looking for a contract where you can build something intelligent, practical, and production-ready from scratch, I’d be happy to share more details.
