Full-Time, Fixed-Term (January 2026 until 31 July 2027) Applications are invited for the post of Senior Developer in the University’s IT Department. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Developer to join our IT Department in a backfill capacity on a fixed-term basis, while the University undertakes a major project to replace its Student Record System (SRS) and transform the operating model for Student Study Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, supporting essential services that impact students and staff across the institution. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise will help maintain continuity and drive improvements during this period of transformation. Key Responsibilities • Provide 2nd-line technical support to business users on queries related to the student records system, admissions system, student portal, and other IT systems providing critical services to students and staff. • Investigate and resolve issues involving data processing scripts and database integrations written in PL/SQL. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure critical business processes continue to function effectively and meet performance expectations. • Support testing and validation of platform upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. • Report issues and resolutions, process changes, and update documentation as needed. • Liaise with other teams across the University and external partners to troubleshoot and escalate issues as needed. You will bring a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Ideally, you will have: • Experience supporting enterprise systems in a higher education or similar regulated environment. • Expertise in developing PL/SQL or SQL for Oracle databases. • Experience developing in scripting languages such as PowerShell. • Strong JavaScript skills and experience working with React or similar web frameworks. • A good understanding of software testing practices and change management. • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively. • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to service excellence.
