Role description
We’re hiring an experienced Python Developer for a 6-month contract with a leading Investment Manager based in London. This role focuses on application development and API engineering β€” not Data Engineering or GenAI. INSIDE IR35 HYBRID WORKING 2-3 DAYS IN LONDON You will build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python, working closely with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment. Strong core Python skills and clear communication are essential. Key Requirements β€’ 5–12 years’ experience as a hands-on Python Developer β€’ Strong understanding of core Python (OOP, data structures, algorithms) β€’ Experience building applications and RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask/Django acceptable but not required) β€’ Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) β€’ Cloud experience, ideally AWS β€’ Exposure to Terraform and understanding of EKS (nice to have) β€’ Ability to explain solutions clearly and work effectively in a client-facing environment β€’ Experience in financial services , especially fixed income β€’ Light ETL/data processing experience (helpful but not essential)
