Role description
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on technology leader to architect our future. This is not a traditional IT role; it is a high-impact position designed as a pathway to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). You will be the catalyst for integrating cutting-edge AI into our core operations, optimizing our technology stack, and ensuring the technical excellence of our government contracts. Think of yourself as equal parts Chief AI Officer, systems architect, project-management coach, and on-call technologist.
Core Responsibilities
You will be the central hub for technology and process innovation, focusing on five key areas:
1. AI & LLM Integration & Automation
Serve as the company's power-user and expert for AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), building reusable prompt libraries and chaining workflows with APIs.
Prototype and deploy internal AI agents to automate critical functions like research, content drafting, data cleaning, and compliance checks.
Coach and train teammates across the company on AI best practices and prompt engineering.
1. Process & Project Management Excellence
Partner with functional teams to map workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements using PMI, Scrum, and Lean methodologies.
Develop and maintain company-wide project dashboards and lead cadence meetings to ensure visibility and on-time delivery.
Establish and monitor KPIs to drive efficiency and accountability across all projects.
1. Systems & Infrastructure Administration
Own, optimize, and consolidate our technology stack (e.g., Google Workspace, M365, AWS/GCP/Azure, Jira, Slack, web hosting platforms).
Manage corporate web assets (WordPress, static sites), including DNS, SSL, performance monitoring, and migrations.
Negotiate vendor agreements and rationalize SaaS subscriptions to reduce costs without sacrificing capability.
1. Government-Contract Technical Support
Act as the first-line technical resource for employees on active contracts, providing rapid troubleshooting and support.
Lead the collection, organization, and quality assurance of contract artifacts (CDRLs), including status reports, test results, and configuration files.
Ensure all deliverables and processes comply with relevant standards (FAR/DFARS, NIST 800-171, CMMC).
1. Contract Review & Strategic Change Management
Review and red-line proposals and subcontracts for technical scope, pricing, and risk, maintaining a library of approved clauses.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate the contract review process and ensure compliance.
Drive company-wide adoption of new tools and processes through workshops, tailored playbooks, and one-on-one coaching.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (required). Masterβs degree (e.g., MBA, MIS) preferred.
AI Experience: Must have hands-on AI experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). Deep, practical expertise with leading LLMs (prompt engineering, API integrations, vector databases) is required.
Project Delivery: Proven experience leading cross-functional projects using formal methodologies (PMI, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma).
Gov-Con Knowledge: Familiarity with federal contracting, including FAR/DFARS regulations, CDRL management, and compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC).
Technical Skills:
Full-Stack Development: HTML/CSS/JS and a backend framework (Node, Django, Laravel, etc.); experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Systems Administration: Proficiency in administering Google Workspace and Microsoft 365; experience with SSO/IdP configuration and basic networking.
Cloud & Web: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managing web hosting environments (e.g., WordPress).
Leadership: 5+ years in a senior IT, DevOps, or Solutions Architect role, with experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
Clearance: Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance is preferred.
