Artificial Intelligence (AI) Subject Matter Expert - IRS MBI ClearedPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence Subject Matter Expert with active IRS MBI clearance to lead AI initiatives and implementations within federal tax systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern AI technologies, cloud platforms, and Large Language Models (LLMs) in enterprise environments. Key ResponsibilitiesAI Strategy & Implementation Design and implement AI solutions using AWS Bedrock and Large Language Models Develop AI/ML strategies aligned with federal compliance and security requirements Lead proof-of-concept development for AI applications in tax processing systems Provide technical guidance on AI model selection, training, and deployment Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing systems Technical Development Develop AI applications using Python and AWS cloud technologies Implement and fine-tune Large Language Models including Claude and Nova Design scalable AI architectures on AWS cloud infrastructure Create automated workflows for AI model training and deployment Perform model evaluation, testing, and performance optimization Federal Systems Integration Work within IRS TCloud environment and federal system architectures Ensure AI solutions comply with federal security standards and regulations Integrate AI capabilities with existing tax processing and compliance systems Support migration of AI workloads to secure cloud environments Collaborate with federal stakeholders on AI governance and best practices Documentation & Compliance Create technical documentation for AI implementations and processes Ensure all AI solutions meet federal compliance and security requirements Develop training materials and knowledge transfer documentation Support security reviews and compliance audits for AI systems Required QualificationsSecurity Clearance Active IRS MBI (Moderate Background Investigation) clearance - MANDATORY Must be able to maintain clearance throughout employment AI/ML Experience 2-3 years of hands-on AI experience with AWS Bedrock platform 2-3 years working with Large Language Models (LLMs) including Claude and Nova Experience with AI model training, fine-tuning, and deployment Knowledge of AI ethics, bias detection, and responsible AI practices Technical Skills 2-3 years of Python programming for AI/ML development 2-3 years of AWS cloud technologies (SageMaker, Lambda, S3, EC2, etc.) Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) Knowledge of MLOps practices and CI/CD for AI systems Familiarity with data engineering and ETL processes Preferred Qualifications Experience with IRS TCloud and federal cloud environments Knowledge of other federal systems and tax processing applications Experience with additional LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA) Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of data privacy and security in AI applications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related technical field 5+ years of software development experience Previous experience working in federal or government environments Experience with agile development methodologies Technical Environment AI Platforms: AWS Bedrock, SageMaker LLMs: Claude, Nova, and other enterprise models Programming: Python, SQL Cloud: AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, VPC, IAM) ML Tools: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Jupyter, MLflow Federal Systems: IRS TCloud, federal compliance frameworks Security Requirements Must pass and maintain IRS background investigation Ability to work in secure federal environments Understanding of federal data handling and privacy requirements Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive tax information What We Offer Competitive salary with federal contracting benefits Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects in government sector Professional development in AI and federal systems Comprehensive benefits package including security clearance premium Flexible work arrangements within federal guidelines Career advancement opportunities in AI and government technology Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Schedule: 8 hour shift Experience: AWS Bedrock: 3 years (Required) LLM(Claude, Nova, etc.): 3 years (Required) License/Certification: IRS MBI/Public Trust Clearance (Required) Work Location: Remote
