Role description
Job Title: S/4HANA Asset Data Analyst – Equipment & Asset Master Focus Location: Remote (Americas preferred) Employment Type: Contract (Potential need through end of 2026) Department: Global Asset Management Reporting to: Asset Management Lead About the Role: We are seeking a S/4HANA Asset Data Analyst to support a critical global SAP S/4HANA implementation focused on equipment, asset master data, and material master validation. The role is central to ensuring the successful migration and integrity of over 2 million equipment records globally. This individual will be instrumental in performing data validation, issue analysis, and remediation efforts—especially as the current testing phases are failing due to poor data quality. You’ll partner closely with SMEs, operations, and the broader Asset Management team to resolve failed loads, interpret complex error codes, and improve data readiness for future migration cycles. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and troubleshoot equipment, asset master, and material master data across ECC and S/4HANA systems. • Investigate load failures across spreadsheets with various data tabs, containing S/4 error codes and object tables. • Translate S/4 error codes into understandable formats for operational teams; develop summaries and next-step action plans. • Coordinate with ECC users to implement data corrections required for successful migration to S/4HANA. • Conduct first-level data validation and package findings for review by non-technical stakeholders. • Work alongside functional leads and SMEs to determine root causes of failed migrations (over 500k out of 2M+ records have failed). • Collaborate with operations teams to differentiate internal fixes vs. escalations, and ensure data integrity in the next load cycle. • Understand how equipment, asset master, and material master records interconnect within S/4HANA. • Assist in defining and applying data relevancy rules and identifying discrepancies in application. • Support mock data runs and assist with ongoing validation and clean-up efforts between ECC and S/4. Ideal Candidate Profile: • 4+ years of experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, specifically working with Asset Management, Equipment Transfer, Material Master, and Asset Master modules. • Proven experience in data validation and migration within an S/4HANA project environment. • Strong ability to interpret technical data spreadsheets, error codes, and system logs. • Background in data cleansing, reconciliation, and SAP table structures. • Hands-on experience with mock runs, test validations, and pre/post-migration data analysis. • Familiarity with intercompany equipment transfers and capital asset tracking is highly desirable. • Ability to work independently, drive problem resolution, and communicate technical issues to business stakeholders. • Strong Excel and data handling skills; comfortable working with large data sets and multi-tab spreadsheets. • Knowledge of standard SAP equipment records and their use in real-world asset management operations is a plus. Why This Role Matters: This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to support a global SAP transformation effort at a critical time. With hundreds of thousands of records failing in migration, the success of this role will directly impact the company’s ability to operate effectively in the new system environment. You'll help bridge the gap between technical SAP data issues and operational readiness, and your work will be instrumental in ensuring system integrity and business continuity across global business units.
